We, BTARS - Bug Tussell Animal Rescue,  are an animal shelter presently caring for 24 dogs and 6 cats.  Our place in the small rural community of Bug Tussell, South Carolina (9 miles northeast of Ridgeway) is a sanctuary for dogs, cats, birds and other wildlife animals.

We are a no kill shelter, of which we are very proud.  All our animals are spayed and neutered and kept in good health.  For most of our animals, we are their final destination, the last road in their life's journey, and their last home for life. 

Unfortunately, we have been told by the State of South Carolina and the County of Fairfield that we must upgrade our facilities to meet their new environmental guidelines by May 31,2012, or we will be forced by law to put all our beloved animals to sleep. 

For many years we have provided a large enclosed grass compound with dog houses and plenty of space for the animals to run and play. But we now have to provide covered, cement bottom shelters in addition to this natural environment.

A conservative cost estimate to fulfill this newly imposed government requirement is $100,000.

This fundraiser is our last hope to raise the money needed - and time has become a very sensitive factor.  We are hoping that one-thousand good souls will donate an average of $100 each. This will allow us to  provide our animals and others a loving home forever without being euthanized. We are a 501.c.3 Non-Profit organization, so your donations will be tax deductable.

I personally do not know how being unable to meet this goal set would affect me, yet I know it would tear me up entirely as it would be the saddest my heart could experience.

Right now we and the animals need YOUR  help.  We really need to make this happen for them. We need you!

My personal funds are drained as it already went into the sanctuary. I did not have the funds for a web site but it has been donated for us for this purpose to ask for help.

So we are depending on the love and support of all animal lovers everywhere to share this page with one another and help us at BTARS.

The cats Milo, Otis, Red, Tabbie, Blackie and Funyon. And all the other critters I feed in my warehouse. I leave the doors open for all wildlife that seeks shelter.)
